It’s that time! We are kicking off planning mode for our biggest community event of the year: 2026 Trunk or Treat! The Peace Children’s Ministry is again collecting Halloween candy for this event, which will be held at 6pm Thursday, Oct. 29. Volunteers and guests: Out of respect for those with allergies, please don’t bring live animals to Trunk or Treat. Prayerfully consider how you can help us share the love of Jesus Christ with hundreds of community children and families at Trunk or Treat. Here are some ways you can help:

• DONATE CANDY: Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, please bring bagged, manufacturer-sealed candy to either Peace campus (church, K-8 school or Early Childhood Center). We need lots and lots of candy! We annually welcome about 900 guests.
• MONETARY GIFTS: If you would prefer to donate money for candy, doughnuts, cider and more, please write a check to Peace Lutheran, indicating “Trunk or Treat” on the check memo line, and place it in the offering plate at worship services. You may also donate online. Click here and note “Trunk or Treat” with your gift.
• HOST A TRUNK: We need many cars for kids to visit while trick-or-treating in our Trunk or Treat event. Bible study small groups, businesses, families, Peace staff, teachers – anyone! If you have a vehicle (and a trunk), we’d love for you to join us. Please don’t make your trunks too spooky, as many of our guests are little with big imaginations. Arrive at 5pm to set up. Some candy will be provided, but we ask that trunk participants also bring at least two bags of candy with you. You dress up in costume, decorate your trunk and pass out candy. • VOLUNTEERS: If you don’t want to host a trunk, we still have many ways you can help at the event! Please consider helping during setup or teardown, help refill candy inside or outside, serve cider and doughnuts in the cafeteria, and more. If you want to help, we have a spot for you!
